See You Xbox Cowboy
Alongside Phil Spencer today, Larry Hryb (Aka Major Nelson) was one of the faces of the Xbox division at Microsoft. He has been with the company since 2001, starting as an editor for MSN Music before joining the company’s Xbox team two years later. We owe him in part, according to him, revolutions in terms of community experiences via Xbox Live and in particular with regard to successes (or Achievement) and group chat.
Since 2012, Hryb has focused on sharing information for the community as Director of Communications. He was thus very present on social networks, but also many blogs, podcasts and livestreams. All these interventions over the years have forged its legend and its popularity among the manufacturer’s fans. After almost 22 years, the man is ready to write “the next chapter of his career”. He announced his departure via Twitter.
After 20 incredible years, I have decided to take a step back and work on the next chapter of my career. As I take a moment and think about all we have done together, I want to thank the millions of gamers around the world who have included me as part of their lives. (1/3)

“After 20 incredible years, I have decided to take a step back and work on the next chapter of my career. As I take a moment to reflect on all that we’ve done together, I want to thank the millions of gamers around the world who have included me in their lives. Thank you also to the members of the Xbox team for trusting me with this direct contact with our customers. The future is bright for Xbox and as a gamer I’m excited to see the evolution. Thanks, I’ll see you online.
Many personalities in the community have thanked Major Nelson for all these years of good and loyal service, but we will especially note a short message from the official PlayStation account despite recent tensions between the two competitors. We will say that it is a good war.

Moreover, we imagine that he leaves with a light heart since the soap opera of the acquisition of Activision/Blizzard/King by Microsoft finally seems to be coming to an end. We also take this opportunity to greet him and wish him a good road for the future.
