Lippert wins the 2nd stage, Kopecky still in yellow, the classification

At the end of a final animated by multiple attacks, there was finally an explanation for the sprint between favorites. And it was Liane Lippert (Movistar) who beat the current yellow jersey of this Tour de France Lotte Kopecky. There were several breakaways including one composed of Georgia Williams
Hannah Ludwig and Yara Kastelijn who took the polka dot jersey during this second stage which started in Clermont-Ferrand and ended in Mauriac after 152km.

The race was rough and intense. Lara Viecelli (Israel Premier Tech) did not start and a few moments after the fictitious start, it was the French Amandine Fouquenet (Arkéa Pro Cycling Team) who gave up continuing her week. Above all, there were many falls with the Jumbo-Visma Van Agt rider who notably passed under the safety rail during the last descent.

The first winner of the Tour de France Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar Team) also fell just under 50 kilometers from the finish, fortunately without gravity for the 2022 world champion. Seven-time winner of the Giro, the Dutchwoman is still aiming for the general classification. The queen stage will take place on Saturday with a finish at the Tourmalet.
