The sprightly team of Phantom Thieves find themselves thrown against their will into the Kingdom of Mary, a pocket dimension ruled by the eponymous despot and his henchmen, the vile Legionaries. Marie clearly has a grain in the brain. Obsessed with the idea of organizing a colossal wedding, she did not invite Andrea Bocelli for the animation (as do the kardashians), but prefers to crush its population to steal their resources. Marie can also defile hearts: she brainwashes the Phantom Thieves, except for Joker and Morgana; they get away with it by a hair’s breadth thanks to the intervention of Erina, leader of the revolutionaries, who takes them to visit his hideout… A perfect replica of the Café Leblanc where the team used to send each other espresso. There is something fishy. Joker therefore has a double objective: to rescue his friends and to discover the truth behind this mysterious Kingdom.
Along the way, Joker and Morgana free Toshiro Kasukabe, a member of the Japanese Diet (equivalent to our Parliament). Tipped to be the next Prime Minister, he accidentally found himself locked up in the Kingdom. His analytical mind and his natural charisma are strong assets to survive. However, there remains one problem: Kasukabe is a little coward who is above all afraid of getting hurt. Impossible, therefore, to mobilize it on the battlefield. But his cowardice (quite relative when you see the cattle of the universe personas) also helps them find the least risky solutions. A capital adjuvant which will necessarily be crucial in the plot. Tomoake Maeno (new voice of Kyo Kusanagi since KoF XIV) will overtake Kasukabe.
Persona 5 Tactica also confirms (who would have doubted it?) that Ryuji Sakamoto and Ann Takamaki, Phantom Thieves of Hearts before the Eternal, will be playable with their respective Captain Kid and Carmen personas.
This beautiful world is not only used to inflate the Wikipedia page of the family personas 5. Chatting with his allies at Café Leblanc will allow us to deepen our relations, of course, but above all to accumulate experience points, just to connect business with pleasure. Persona 5 Tactica prefers to talk about GP, “Growth Points”, which we can invest at leisure in our teammates. We can reset their talents at any time to correct a planning flaw and readjust the composition of our shock commando. THE re-spec definitely establishes itself as the industry standard.
Once in the arena, our characters will have to shave the walls to stay under cover. Indeed, when attacked in the open, our enemies can launch a 1MORE, an unsavory additional attack. Conversely, our heroes can flush out their opponents to launch their own 1MORE. As you will have understood, you will have to position yourself carefully to get out of the game. Spells will, however, help us to destabilize the enemy formation: Acted makes mobs vulnerable while Zio immobilizes them for one turn. Another joker up our sleeve, a VOLTAGE gauge charges as we inflict or take damage. Once filled, this gauge can be emptied to activate the unique skills of our characters, just to reverse the course of the fight. But to have a more precise description of these skills, it will still be necessary to wait.
Persona 5 Tactica is scheduled for November 17, 2023 on all market platforms. A trailer dedicated to Ryuji Sakamoto is available below (in Japanese only).
