Ubisoft hopes to pay homage to the universe of George Lucas through an open world between familiar places and new destinations.
Revealed at the Xbox conference this summer and then detailed during the Ubisoft Forward on June 12, the game star wars outlaws has not finished talking about him. While players are still waiting for the adaptation ofAvatar of James Cameron by the studio, this one works in parallel on another great license of the pop culture. Following in the footsteps of Quantic Dream and its star wars eclipse narrative, Ubisoft decides to bring some pure action to the galaxy far, far away.
It is in the skin of Kay Vess, a new character and outlaw that players will be able to live an intense adventure through the stars. A few days ago, Ubisoft revealed its ambitions by promising a world created by hand, and not generated procedurally (we feel there a small attack against Starfield). The different planets which will be equivalent to two zones ofAssassin’s Creed: Odyssey promise great content, as well as nostalgic exploration. Following the conference dedicated to the title at San Diego Comic-Con, a new behind-the-scenes trailer for the game has appeared, revealing some new environments.
Between desert and savannah
Kay Vess’ adventure promises to be arid to say the least. Never-before-seen clips shared by the developers reveal two of the planets that will be explored at launch. The biggest fans of Star Wars will be delighted to find the famous desert planet Tatooine. According to the concept art, Kay Vess will even meet Jabba the Hutt and may come across poor Han Solo frozen in carbonite. This small detail once again confirms the temporal placement of this adventure, right in the heart of the original trilogy. Music lovers should also find the famous music of Mos Eisley Cantina.
Since the desert is not enough, players can also go to a moon with high temperatures: Toshara. This unique environment inspired by the African savannah seems to be full of creatures of all kinds and landforms to explore. On that same moon is the great city of Murugana, an area that will truly “stand out in the star wars galaxy“. For now, star wars outlaws has yet to reveal its release date, but is already aiming for a launch during the year 2024. The title will be available on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, making this game (with Avatar) one of the first productions of the studio reserved for the next-gen.
